Medical Defense Society is delighted to announce a new 12 month partnership with Learna, designed to support GP trainees as they prepare for the MRCGP Applied Knowledge Test.
The Applied Knowledge Test and what it means for GP trainees
As part of this collaboration, Medical Defense Society will fund access to the Learna StudyPRN MRCGP AKT resource for eligible GP trainees, giving them free access to a dedicated revision platform built around the requirements of the AKT.
The Applied Knowledge Test is a key milestone in GP training, assessing the clinical knowledge, evidence based practice and administrative understanding required for independent general practice. Preparing for the exam can be demanding, particularly alongside the pressures of clinical work, training commitments and personal responsibilities.
Unlimited Resits and 24/7 Online Access
The Learna StudyPRN resource has been developed to help trainees revise with structure, flexibility and confidence. It includes a bank of more than 1,400 curriculum aligned questions, alongside a full mock exam designed to reflect the format and content of the AKT.
Trainees using the resource will also benefit from detailed answer explanations, peer comparison, unlimited resits and 24/7 online access. This means they can study whenever and wherever it suits them, whether that is between placements, after surgery, at weekends or during focused revision time.

Reducing Barriers For GP Trainees
For Medical Defense Society, the partnership reflects a wider commitment to supporting doctors at the beginning of their GP careers.
